Attaching an account to a client
Which client plays as which account, and what happens when it is missing.
An account is attached to a client when the client is created, and can be changed later, while the client is stopped.
Attaching
From the create form, pick the account. From an existing client, edit it and change the Account field. The client has to be stopped first: Stop the client before editing it.
A client with no account is flagged on the Clients page as no account attached, and the Overview's Need you list offers Pick an account. It cannot start until one is attached.
One at a time
One account runs one client at a time. Pointing two running clients at the same account does not work: the game server allows a single session per account, and the two clients will knock each other offline.
If you want several clients on a server, each needs its own account, and the server's rules on how many connections you may have still apply.
Spares
Deleting a client keeps its account. It returns to the Accounts list as a spare, ready to attach to something else. The same is true of its flows and its dedicated IP.
Each account in the list shows how many clients use it and how many are running. Usable accounts, one per running client, are what actually limit how many clients you can run at once.
To change the account on many stopped clients at once, select them on the Clients page and use Logins. Each picked client gets its own account; accounts with no client are listed first.
