What sharing costs
You pay per person, not per share, and when the coins come back.
The fee admits a person to your account. It does not buy a grant. Share five clients with the same friend and you pay once; the second, third and fourth cost nothing.
The rule
| Who you are inviting | Price |
|---|---|
| Your first collaborator | Free |
| Somebody who already holds a share from you, or has an invite from you outstanding | Free |
| Anybody else | 300 coins |
The count is across your whole account, not per resource: every distinct person who currently holds a share from you, plus every pending invite you have out. One free place, then 300 coins per additional person.
That count is live rather than a running total. Revoke every share you have given and your next invite is free again, but revoking refunds nothing, so that is not a way to save anything.
The price shown in the dialog is for the exact address you typed, checked before the button will submit, and the confirmation says what was taken: Invite sent. 300 coins charged. The 300 and the one free place are admin settings rather than constants in the code, so the dialog's numbers are the real ones.
When coins come back
| What happened | Refund |
|---|---|
| They declined the invite | Full |
| The invite expired unanswered | Full |
| You cancelled a pending invite | Full |
| You revoked a live share | None |
Revoking never refunds, and inviting that person again pays again. The confirmation says so before you click:
{email} loses access immediately. This does not refund the coins it cost to invite them, and inviting them again will charge again.
Cancelling an unanswered invite is the other case, which is why it is a different button:
The invite to {email} stops working, and the coins it cost come straight back to you. They can be invited again later.
A refund returns coins to the kind they were spent from: free coins come back free, earned come back earned, and purchased or plan-allowance coins come back purchased. It never upgrades a free or earned coin into a permanent one. See how coins work.
When you cannot invite
- Not enough coins. The invite is refused before anything is written, with the price in the message.
- A frozen account. A reversed card payment freezes buying, listing and sharing alike until the balance is settled. Running clients and existing shares are untouched.
