Sharing a client, flow or dedicated IP

What can be shared, how an invite works, and what the other person sees.

Sharing gives one other person access to one of your resources at one level. It is not a workspace and not a group: every grant is a single row saying this thing, that person, this much.

What can be shared

Three kinds, each shared from its drawer on the Crew page:

KindWhere the button is
ClientCrew → Crew → click a row → Share
FlowCrew → Flows → click a row → Share
Dedicated IPCrew → Dedicated IPs → click a row → Share

Select on the Crew page picks several at once, and Share these invites one person to all of them in one go: one charge covers the lot.

A Phone IP cannot be shared.

Game accounts cannot be shared. That is deliberate, not an omission: a game account holds an encrypted premium sign-in, and nothing in the panel hands that to anybody else. Someone you give Control on a client still starts and stops it. The account is resolved on the server from the client itself, so they operate it without ever being shown it. Nothing lists your accounts to a grantee.

Only the owner shares. Something shared with you cannot be passed on, however high your level is.

Sending an invite

Share opens a dialog with three things in it:

FieldNotes
Their email addressThe address they sign in with. It has to match (see below), letter case aside.
Access levelView, Control or Edit; View to start with. What each means.
PriceChecked live, for that exact address, before the button will submit.

The price line is not decoration. The fee is charged the moment the invite is sent, so the dialog will not let you send until it has an answer for the address you typed: This invite is free. or This invite costs 300 coins, charged immediately. See what sharing costs.

Two invites are refused outright:

  • Your own address: that is your own address.
  • A second pending invite to the same person for the same resource: there is already a pending invite for that person. Cancel the first, or wait for them to answer it.

There is also a daily limit on how many invites you can send.

What the other person sees

They get an email, "{name} shared a client with you on CubeMind", with a single Accept link. It names you and the kind of thing. Nothing else.

If the address already belongs to a CubeMind account, a notification lands in their Mail too, and the invite waits at the top of their Shared page under Invites waiting for you, with Accept and Decline on the row.

The link opens a page that asks:

An invite is waiting for you. Somebody has given you access to something of theirs. Accept it and it appears on your Shared page. Decline it and the coins it cost go back to them. Nothing happens until you choose.

That page deliberately does not name the resource, the level or you: a forwarded email would otherwise describe your account to whoever opened it.

The address is the invite. Accepting checks that the signed-in account's email matches the one you invited, so they need a CubeMind account on that address. Anyone else opening a forwarded link gets Wrong address and nothing else. The token alone is not enough.

Accept, decline, expire

  • Accept: the grant is created, and appears on their Shared page.
  • Decline: nothing is shared, and your coins come back.
  • Ignored: the invite expires after 7 days (an admin setting), and your coins come back then.

Once an invite has been accepted, declined, expired or cancelled it is dead: the link answers This invite is no longer valid.

Changing someone's level

On your Shared page, each live row under Shared by you has View, Control and Edit buttons. Pick another one and the level changes straight away, for free, with no new invite. A client cannot be moved to Edit.
